Rebelway is looking for a Senior FX/TD Artist to help us create stunning FX in Houdini.

Job Type: Full-Time

Rebelway, an online home for advanced Houdini FX training, is looking to hire a senior FX artist to help us craft incredible VFX work. This senior position is a full-time candidate. Candidates should show proficiency in the latest FX techniques inside Houdini.

This is the perfect job for a Houdini artist that enjoys practicing their craft. As both the artist and creative visionary, this role will allow you to push yourself and try new things without the limitations of a typical client project.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Create Houdini setups for Pyro, Destruction, Magical, etc…
  • Efficiently render the FX using Mantra, Arnold, or any other third-party renderers.
  • Technical setup, implementation, and troubleshooting of VFX pipeline
  • Modify the Project Look and Design to Match Our Creative Director’s Vision

Skills/Requirements:

  • 5+ Years of Experience as an Intermediate/Senior FX Artist
  • At least 8+ Years of Experience in the VFX industry
  • A good understanding of physical dynamics and natural phenomena
  • Extensive experience with particle systems, fluid dynamics, rigid body dynamics, and procedural systems
  • Proven track record creating effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, explosions, magic, etc.
  • Experience with node-based compositing software such as Nuke
  • Able to problem solve both technically and creatively in a collaborative environment with directors/art directors Able to stay current with the latest tools, technologies, and techniques
  • Familiar with FX pipelines and their respective issues
  • A Great Attitude

Pluses:

  • Experience with teaching.
  • Experience with VEX
  • Experience with C++ or Python
  • Working Knowledge of Mantra, Arnold or, similar renderers
